SkinPen® microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that uses fine needles to create tiny channels in the skin's surface. Microneedling with SkinPen® is generally well-tolerated, though some patients may experience mild discomfort. Numbing cream is applied to the skin beforehand to minimise pain, and the procedure typically feels like a light pricking or tingling sensation. The recovery period involves slight redness and swelling, but pain is minimal.
After SkinPen® microneedling, you may experience redness, swelling, or slight bruising in the treated area. These side effects are temporary and should subside within a few days. Some patients may also notice slight dryness or peeling as the skin heals, but these effects are generally mild.
