Hyperhidrosis treatment involves addressing excessive sweating in areas such as the underarms, hands and feet. Botox injections are commonly used to reduce the activity of the sweat glands and reduce perspiration. This treatment is ideal for individuals who experience severe sweating that affects their daily lives or causes embarrassment.
Hyperhidrosis treatment is minimally painful. Botox injections may cause slight discomfort during the procedure, but the sensation is typically brief and tolerable. Most patients report feeling little pain, and a numbing cream can be used to minimise discomfort during the procedure.
Side effects are rare but may include mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites. These typically subside within a few hours to a few days.

Genetics, medications, illnesses, hormonal changes and sometimes diet can play a role in how much – and how often – a person sweats. However, sometimes, there’s no identifiable cause. Hyperhidrosis doesn’t always improve on its own and can sometimes worsen.
Botox for hyperhidrosis can help to reduce the amount you sweat, preventing embarrassing problems like sweat patches. Effects take up to 2 weeks to develop, and last between 6-9 months on average, though factors like metabolism and genetics do play a role. We can use a numbing agent on treated areas in advance of your injections, to help desensitise the skin and reduce discomfort.
Doctors may recommend treatments like drugs or surgery, for example surgical removal of the sweat glands. Both of these can come with risks and unpleasant side-effects. By comparison, Botox for hyperhidrosis is a low-risk treatment and commonly used for treating this problem, among other medical concerns.
