Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments designed to improve skin texture and tone by exfoliating the outer layers of the skin using a chemical solution. Chemical peels may cause some discomfort, particularly with stronger peels, as they can produce a tingling or burning sensation. Mild redness, tightness, and flaking are common after the procedure, but these sensations typically subside within a few days.
Side effects are usually mild and include redness, peeling, and skin sensitivity in the days following the treatment. These effects should not last more than a few days. In deeper skin tones, it is common to see pigmentation changes. This will resolve in the weeks following treatment as the new skin reveals a fresh uniform glow.

Yes. Most are gentle on the skin, though the depth of skin penetration depends largely on the choice of ingredients. Those that go more deeply into the skin’s innermost layers can cause a slight stinging sensation during treatment. However, most of our patients opt for superficial (skin surface) peels which can produce immediate, beautiful results with little discomfort or downtime. Treatment at G&T aesthetics takes around 45 minutes, and you will likely see an immediate improvement to your skin, with results lasting up to 8 weeks. Not all facial peels cause visible peeling. We also offer a range of superficial peels, safe for all skin types, with benefits and results comparable to deep peels, significantly reducing post treatment inflammation, downtime, and visible skin peeling.
